A busy first day in Athens meeting up with old friends.
The wonderful Orange House is thriving, the residents lovely and the school getting bigger and bigger. I saw that our latest donations of chairs and tables had arrived.
I also was so happy to visit Tamim and his lovely family. They share a floor of a large house with eight other families and 25 children! They are very happy to be in Athens now but living in one small room and sharing the other facilities, life cannot be too easy in these circumstances.
Sally and her mother Wesal are also well and we did a big supermarket shop together. Her new flat is near the centre of Athens which is much easier for her to attend Greek lessons and profit from the food and other facilities that are available from the volunteers.
A big thank you to everyone for your continuing support to all our refugee friends and projects.
Ma première journée à Athènes était bien remplie! La merveilleuse Maison Orange est pleine de vie et les activities se développent de plus en plus. Plus que cent personnes en profitent chaque jour en plus que les résidentes, femmes et enfants. La maison offre en plus des repas chaque jour à des personnes qui vivent à l'extérieur.
J'étais aussi très heureuse à rendre visite à Tamim et sa famille. Heureux d'être hébergés dans une maison enfin, la vie ne doit pas être trop facile pour eux. Ils vivent dans une petite chambre, partageant un étage d'une maison avec huit autre familles et 25 enfants!
Sally et sa mère Wesal vont bien, elles sont confortablement installées dans un appartement plus près du centre où Wesal peut suivre des cours de grec. Nous avons fait des courses au supermarché car elles manquaient de la nourriture fraiche et des produits d'hygiène.
